COURSES OFFERED

These courses are recognized by Central Council of Homeopathy Govt of India and Affiliated to Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh,  Vijayawada.

 

1] BHMS

 

2] M.D.[Hom]

 

BHMS;

 

1)     ELIGIBILITY:  Minimum Qualification:  No candidate shall be admitted to the B.H.M.S. (Degree) course unless he/she has:

a)     Passed the intermediate examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education of the Govt. of A.P. with Biology, Physics & Chemistry as optional subjects or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by Academic Council which shall include a practical test in respect of Biology, Physics and Chemistry. The total period of study for the qualifying examination should be 10+2 years of which the last two years of academic study shall comprise of the subjects of Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

b)     Attained the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission to the first year of the course.

c)     Blind (including colour blind), deaf and/ or dumb candidates shall not be allowed for admission in the course

 

2)    MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION:  English

 

3)    NUMBER OF SEATS : 60 [ one seat is reserved for Govt of India]

 

4)    SELECTION OF STUDENTS:  The selection of students to Homoeopathic Medical Colleges shall be based solely on the merit of the candidates in EAMCET examination conducted by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh

 

5)    REGISTRATION:  A candidate admitted to the course in any of the affiliated colleges shall apply for registration with this University in the prescribed proforma within one month from the date of joining the college. The application for registration in the prescribed form along with the fee prescribed should be submitted to this university through the Head of the college. The University in turn will allot a Permanent Identification Number (PIN) that will be valid till the student completes this course. Without this PIN, the student will not be considered as a bonafide student of the University and his/her application for the university exam will not be considered.

 

6)    COURSE OF STUDY:

(i)       The Degree Course of B.H.M.S. shall comprise a course of study consisting of curriculum and syllabus provided in these regulations spread over a period of 51 /2  ( five years six months ) ( 4years 6 months + 1 year ) years, including compulsory rotatory internship of one year after passing the IV B.H.M.S. examination.

(ii)      Every candidate after passing the final BHMS examination, shall undergo compulsory internship for a period of twelve months as per the procedure laid down in annexure “ A ” attached to these regulations.

(iii)            On successful completion of the internship and on the recommendation of the Principal of the Homoeopathic Medical College, the University shall issue the Degree to such candidates.

 

6) SUBJECTS: Subjects for study and examination for the B.H.M.S. (Degree Course) with effect from the academic year 2003-2004 shall be as under:

1.       Anatomy.

2.       Physiology including Biochemistry.

3.       Organon of Medicine, Principles of Homoeopathic Philosophy and Psychology.

4.       Homoeopathic Pharmacy.

5.       Homoeopathic Materia Medica & Therapeutics.

6.       Pathology & Microbiology.

7.       Forensic Medicine and Toxicology.

8.       Practice of Medicine.

9.       Surgery.

10.  Obstetrics and Gynecology.

11.  Community Medicine.

12.  Case taking and Repertory.

 

M.D.[Hom]

 

Regulations relating to M.D. (Homoeopathy)

 

            Introduction of Post graduation courses in the filed of Homoeopathy will augur new inventions and better prospects for the system. It is the highest step in this science to bring new image and better acceptance in the scientific community in general and Medical Science in particular. The objective of this training is to produce world class professionals, practitioners, researchers and excellent teachers in Homoeopathy.

 

BRANCHES OF STUDY:

 

Post graduate degree course of M.D. Homoeopathy having the following branches:

 

1.         M.D. (H) – Doctor of Medicine-   Organon of medicine with Homoeopathic Philosophy

2.         M.D. (H) – Doctor of Medicine-   Homoeopathic Materia Medica

3.         M.D. (H)-   Doctor of Medicine – Repertory

 

 

METHOD OF SELECTION:

 

Selection of candidates for the M.D.[Hom] courses through a state level entrance examination conducted by Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences every year. Total 18 seats out of this one seat is reserved for the Govt of India Nominee. 3 seats are reserved for in service candidates.

 

PERIOD OF TRAINING:

 

The period of training for M.D. [Hom] shall be 3 years [ six clear terms of six months each after full registration including one year of house job or equivalent thereof]

 

METHOD OF TRAINING:

 

            The emphasis should be on in- service training and not on didactic lectures. The candidate should take part in seminars, group discussions, clinical meetings and journal club. The candidate should be required to write a thesis or dissertation with detailed commentary which would provide the candidate with necessary background of training in research. Methods and techniques along with the art of writing research papers and learning and making use of library. The Candidate shall be in the campus and shall be given graded responsibility in the management and treatment of patients entrusted to his care. He shall participate in teaching and training of under graduate students or interns. They should be trained in the basic working knowledge of the computers.
